Centre Director Everton Park

Hi, I’m Michelle Jeffrey

Let me introduce myself…

My name is Michelle Jeffrey and I am the centre director here at Harmony Everton Park. I have been working in the Early Childhood industry for the past 20 years, and I am passionate about providing children with a loving and safe environment to thrive.

Why I’m passionate about early childhood education?

My personal belief is that children are competent learners with rights who are innately curious with the world around them. It is our duty to provide them with safe, stimulating environments that foster their learning.

The learning should be developmentally appropriate, researched based and meet the needs of the individual child. Most importantly children should feel safe and loved whilst in our care. I feel strongly that we have close relationships with our families as you are your child’s first and most important teacher.

What I love about Harmony Everton Park?

My philosophy aligns with Harmony’s intentions and anchors all we do here at Everton Park. I believe that the well thought our learning environments support the children’s different learning styles, and the many learning resources stimulate the children’s creativity. Harmony’s sustainability practices help children become aware of the environment and how look after our planet.

A few of my favourite things

  • Favourite colour: Blue – I find it peaceful
  • Favourite animal and why? The Leopard. One of the most beautiful cats. In the wild they are almost impossible to find, but when you do they lure you in their green eyes.
  • Favourite Food – Chocolate – Anything chocolate except white chocolate – it doesn’t count.

What are my likes and dislikes?

Dislikes

  • Mushy bananas

Likes

  • Tennis
  • Holidays to new and old destinations
  • Catch-ups with family and friends

I look forward to meeting you and your family and welcoming you into the Harmony Everton Park family.
