At Harmony, the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every child in our care is our highest priority.
Child safety isn’t just a policy. It’s part of our identity. From the way our spaces are designed to the way our people are trained, we embed safety into every moment of the day. Families trust us because we take our role seriously, act with transparency and lead with care.
Our Approach to Child Safety and Emotional Wellbeing
At Harmony, children’s safety, wellbeing and emotional security are never negotiable. They are the foundation of everything we do.
We are deeply committed to creating environments where every child feels safe, respected, understood and supported to thrive. Our approach to behaviour guidance is intentional, evidence‑informed and grounded in a strong understanding of child development, emotional regulation and respectful relationships.
We believe children learn best when they feel emotionally safe. Behaviour is not something to be controlled, but understood and guided with care, consistency and professionalism.
At Harmony, you can expect that:
Our Commitment to Emotional Safety
Emotional safety is just as important to us as physical safety.
We are committed to creating environments where children:
This commitment is actively protected through strong leadership oversight across all Harmony centres.
At Harmony, our commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing is strengthened by dedicated leadership oversight.
Harmony appoints a Child Safety and Wellbeing Advocate whose sole focus is to protect, uphold and continuously strengthen emotionally safe, respectful and child centred practice across all our centres.
This role exists to ensure that child safety and wellbeing are not just values, but lived standards in every interaction, every day.
What This Means for Your Family
Our Child Safety and Wellbeing Advocate:
Why This Matters
Having a dedicated Child Safety and Wellbeing Advocate means families can be confident that Harmony:
At Harmony, children’s safety, wellbeing and emotional security are protected by design, supported by leadership and embedded into every aspect of our practice.
Your child’s wellbeing is not just our priority. It is our responsibility.
We believe the strongest outcomes for children come from genuine partnerships with families.
When behaviour‑related concerns arise, we are committed to:
Every educator at Harmony is responsible for upholding emotionally safe, respectful practice.
Our leadership team provides ongoing training, coaching and oversight to ensure behaviour guidance practices are consistent, professional and aligned across all centres. Expectations are clear, support is provided, and accountability is maintained.
This is not optional. It is a shared responsibility and a core standard of care at Harmony.
Your child’s safety, wellbeing and sense of belonging will always come first.
Our teams are trained to recognise and respond to any concerns, and we follow clear, immediate reporting pathways without exception.
Each service is supported by an active leadership team who are present in studios, oversee supervision and ensure high standards are upheld throughout the day.
Children, educators and families are encouraged to speak openly. We foster a culture of trust, where concerns can be shared and responded to with care and respect.
All educators complete comprehensive child protection training before starting. Annual refreshers and partnerships with Bravehearts support our team and the children in their care.
Children are never left alone with a single educator. We work in teams to ensure supervision is visible, consistent and accountable.
Our centres are built with open sightlines, glass doors and discreet viewing panels to support safe supervision. CCTV operates in key areas to assist leadership oversight.
We carefully screen every person who works at Harmony. We verify qualifications, check references, confirm Working with Children Checks and deliver full induction training before any educator begins.
All staff and visitors follow our Code of Conduct, which sets the tone for respectful, safe and professional behaviour across our services.
All educators are supported to follow clear boundaries and transparent practices, including additional safeguards for one on one care and intimate hygiene routines.
We work in partnership with families, communicating openly, sharing updates and welcoming conversations about how we can best support each child.
A Culture of Safety, Every Day.
We don’t just talk about safety—we live it. Through strong leadership, trusted relationships, and deeply embedded systems, Harmony centres are places where children are safe, seen and supported.
Thank you for choosing Harmony. Your child’s safety is our constant focus.
